The Chicago Bears 2013 Draft Analysis
With the 2013 Draft finally over, it’s now time to go over each one of the Bears draft choices. Before we dive into each pick, I want to remind each an every one of you that it’s way too early to label anyone a bust and that even goes for the 2012 draft class. Let’s give these players at least three years to develop and become consistent players in the NFL before labeling them as bust. The draft is finally here! Today will be Marc Trestman’s first draft as the Bears head coach and hopefully it’s the first of many great drafts. I hope you have been enjoying the blogs and the contest on Bearsfam.com! There will be more of both as the season progresses and everyone will have a chance to win something Bears related.
Phil Emery has earned an A in my book when it comes to what he has done in Free Agency. Shoring up the left tackle position, adding a dynamic tight end, and adding depth across the board has made the Bears of 2013 look primed to win this season. However, the Bears still

need to add some youth to an aging defense and playmakers on offense for quarterback, Jay Cutler. However, the Bears only have 5 draft picks and they are hoping to trade down but that might prove difficult with, at my count, 8 other teams wanting to trade down.
No one has the slightest clue who the Bears will draft on draft day or what they will do. Thus, let’s try to enjoy a day that a young man becomes a Chicago Bear and a day that signifies that the 2013 season is almost here.

Let’s be honest, it’s going to be really hard to keep both Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings next season. Especially if they perform at the same level they did last year. Keeping both would be an insane luxury that the Bears might not be able to afford if they decided to bring back Cutler, Williams, or Melton, who are all free agents after the 2013 season. (more…)
